For our epic, unprecedented, best-ever 25th episode of Saturday Mourning Cartoons, we not only tackled the fan-favorite 80s series ThunderCats, we welcomed a very special guest: Steve “Frosty” Weintraub of Collider.com. Much like the rest of us, Steve was a big fan of the Rankin/Bass production which saw the titular Thunderians crash-land on Third Earth to battle the Mutants of Plundaar and the ancient evil of Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living!
Oh, and unlike the rest of us, Steve has an insider’s look at just how Hollywood likes to adapt things like ThunderCats, what traits make a property particularly lucrative and enticing to adapt, and what’s next after the vogue of comicbook movie adaptations slows down. It was a fun chat, and we hope you enjoy it! If you want to know more about Steve, find him over at Collider.com, and follow along with his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
*Apologies in advance for some continuing audio issues we’re having. Rest assured, we’re attempting to fix this in the future. Thanks for your patience!
